Is Acupuncture Painful?

How does it feel to get acupuncture treatment?

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for over 2,000 years. The treatment involves the insertion of needles into the body at precise points in order to relieve pain and other symptoms.

The experience of acupuncture varies from person to person. Some people report pain, while others say it feels more like a deep massage. The specifics depend on a number of factors: your pain tolerance, and the specific acupuncture treatment you are receiving. It’s very safe, but because the skin is getting penetrated, you may feel a sensation of pain, or experience some light bruising in the area you receive treatment in. You may also experience soreness where needles are inserted, but this usually will subside after a day or so.

Whatever your reason for getting acupuncture, the most important thing is finding an acupuncturist who has proper training. If you are looking for a trained and licensed acupuncturist, Caulo Care is always happy to treat you!
